American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funds

The Athens Blacktop Road (CH2) multi-year improvement project goal is to improve safety and enhance mobility through the reconstruction and widening 6.4 miles of CH2 from .26 miles east of IL Rt. 97 to Main Street in Athens, Illinois.  The Menard County Highway Department will be receiving $229,883 in ARRA Funds for transportation improvements.  These funds will be used to cover preliminary engineering for portions of the Athens Blacktop Road not covered with Federal Safety Funds.
